Inventive title… I know. :\
I had all these ideas to write about over the past few weeks and I just never got around to any of them. I am such a slacker sometimes. I figured I should just put them down here so I won’t forget them and maybe come back to them at somepoint. Unfortunately they all require some effort on my part…
- I recently reread the amazing book House of Leaves and came across a quote in it about photography. Some of you may know that I was this: |—| close to getting my BFA in Photography before I decided I hated school and wasn’t learning anything new so why waste my time and dropped out. It was a great quote about what makes photography art and I just can’t seem to find it again in the book. Eventually I will come across it again.
- I planned on writing about all my great gifts that I got for Christmas but I just never got around to it. I figure it is probably a little too late at this point though. Let’s just say I am writing this post in some kick ass Cthulhu Slippers.
- I am currently reading Disinfo’s Book of Lies: The Disinformation Guide to Magick and the Occult and there was a great quote in it about the perceived reality in one of Genesis P-Orridge’s essays and I had a whole great entry planned in my head, but I just have not sat down to actually put it together. One day.
So those are the more interesting entries I had planned to do. Hopefully I will get around to some of them soon.
I will say one thing on the Christmas gifts I received this year. This blog influenced at least 2 people to send me Give Me Your Tots items this year. And to that I say, “Sweet.”
So I was looking at my blog’s stats weeping at the low amount of people who find my shitty writing interesting enough to come here and I was surprised to see what some of the keywords were to finding my blog. Thought I should share them with you all:
- necrophilia fuckers
- tater tots and eggs
Yes. My blog is apparently very popular with people who like to fuck dead people and enjoy a diced and reshaped potato treat. In one way I am honored, but in another I am saddened that I just can’t provide the level of enjoyment I am sure some of them are looking for once they stumble upon this blog.
The search for “necrophilia fuckers” came in via MSN. When I did the search on msn.com with those words I am the fifth listed site. Wow, impressive. While I am all for sexual deviancy and partake in plenty (as some of you may know by my low purity score) I have yet to see the hotness of a corpse and honestly hope I never do. Sorry boys and girls.
Now, tater tots. Those I love. Not as good as Nathan’s fries, but damn good nonetheless.
I was over at /. reading the latest Blu-Ray story’s comments (shoot me). Someone posted this up about VHS and the beginning of DVDs:
“[VHS] was so dumb, that people didn’t even mind loosing the ability to record TV when they moved over [to DVD].”
I never really thought about that before, but it is true. When I first got into DVDs, sometime in 1999, I pretty much threw my VCR away. Looking back on it I can’t believe I made that transition so easily. I was a recording maniac. I recorded so many movies and shows. I don’t know how or why I just gave it up like that when DVD came around. I can’t remember if Tivo was around then, but I know I sure as hell didn’t have it or any other DVR yet. And I definitely didn’t have a DVD Recorder until a few years later. How did I just give up “archiving” so easily? I can’t really figure it out.
Between my DVR and DVD recorder and PC’s DVD+-RW I can save as much crap as I want to, but I tend not to now. Atleast nowadays I know that the chances are that almost anything that airs on TV will be released on DVD soon enough so I don’t feel the need to record every episode (or any episode for that matter) of a show I like. Six years ago I couldn’t say that.
I guess it is something I will never figure out.
I Titor’d back to 1980 tonight. It was wonderful.
AK and I picked up an Atari Flashback 2 yesterday at Best Buy. Got a great deal too at 19.99 since they only had the price up for the older version. Basically it is a smaller version of the 2600 with 40 games built into it. Supposedly it uses the original hardware, I don’t know though. The controllers are also authentic… just as stiff and uncooperative as you remember. I love it.
I was constantly surprised at the games that I remembered. “‘Haunted House’, what’s that? OH SHIT! I remember this!” Unfortunately some of the games just aren’t as good as you remember them being. That, of course, is not the case for this gem:

River Raid. Yes, River Raid still owns. I think I could still play this game for hours, hell, for $20 bucks I would have bought this system if the only game it had was River Raid.

Everyone who ever owned an Atari 2600 needs to go pick this up. Show your children what you had to play on when they are bitching about the gameplay and/or graphics on their Xbox 360.
Last night Freak Magnet was in town to see Billy Squier, or like she calls him, her future husband. I know… like me I am sure you are all just shocked that: A) He is still alive and B) Anyone remembers who the hell he is. I only remember him because I have VH1 Classic and every now and then they run out of shit to play and throw one of his videos on.
Anyway, after the show she gave me a call so we could get together for some coffee and food before she makes the trek back to MD. AK and I met up with Freak and her friend in Hoboken and took her to a diner I enjoy a couple towns over. First we stopped over by the river so she could take in the beautiful view of NYC we get on this side of the Hudson. We talked a little about her experience in NYC and at the show. By about 12:30 they decided that they needed to start on their way back to MD. I don’t think there is any band that I would drive 3 – 4 hours away for, so I give her credit for that.
Too bad it was for Billy Squier though.
Had a good time, sucks that it wasn’t earlier in the night, but as least we got together for an hour or so and had some laughs. And it was a nice way to end a crappy day. I have been swamped lately with a project that finally got out the door basically done yesterday. It was a multimedia CD-Rom for a large corporation, and it was just massive as far as the amount of information that needed to be on the CD. Just waiting for some edits and hopefully the rest of the process will be painless… doubtful though. I wanted the project done on Monday, so by Wednesday I was going nuts trying to get it done and at the same time beating myself up for not finishing it when I planned to. Thankfully by the time Freak was around I was in a good mood.
She also brought me some Ayn Rand books, so that was nice. Thanks, Freak!
So I was sitting here staring at the screen listening to some music and realized I should do some work. Now, which project do I dust off and get back into? I have way too many web projects of my own just sitting there that need to be finished/worked on.
- The review site that is basically built, but lacks enough content to get launched (though I should really rebuild it from scratch because I am anal)
- good ol’ Principia-Esoterica.com which is 95% done, but just gets pushed to the side
- figure out what the fuck I am going to put on cadaverbaby.com, I can’t let such a good domain name go to waste
- design and build the new design site
- work on chaostatic.com
So what do I do instead of work on any of these things? Write an entry here about it. Atleast I am keeping my blog updated, I guess. Even if none of you fuckers comment on here. Is this my punishment for leaving blogger?
Of course there is always the massive backlog of unwatched DVDs…
The other day AK and I were in our local PathMark doing our food shopping. We were in the shampoo aisle looking for some curl something or other shampoo for her. Next to the black hair care products they had a few shelves of something I have never seen sold in a regular supermarket before. Magickal lotions and shampoos… yes. Now, Santeria is pretty prevalent where I live due to the extremely large hispanic population and it is quite common to see the religious saint candles and such in the regular supermarkets, but seeing these lotions sold in a big chain supermarket was surprising to say the least. Of course I had to use my camera phone.
They had a lot of different ones there, but the Jinx Killer bottle was designed the best IMO. I might have to buy a bottle for myself next time I go there, just for shits and giggles. These items of course raise the all important question: what happened to just bathing in fish heads? Is that just not effective enough?
I was going to pick up one for AlienRedrum, but they must have run out of Gay-B-Gone lotion.
Well, the new blog is finally up. Decided it would be best to take it off of blogger and post it on one of my domains. After looking into a few blogging softwares I decided on WordPress. I liked the features it offered and the expandability. Being able to import all my content from blogger was a big plus too.
Speaking of which. The only glitch I found (so far) with the import is that all my posts and comments came in as 12/31/69. I went in and fixed all my posts, but there was no way I was going in to fix all the comments. So for now, and probably forever, you will all have Titor’d back before the intarweb and left comments for me. Hopefully new comments will format correctly.
The new name, fnordication, make of it what you will. I am not sold 100% on it, but it will stay for now. And in case you are wondering, that is Aki Hoshino in my header image. Thanks to AK for throwing that together for me since I was too lazy.
I have let my blog go for a long time and I have a number of things ready to written about so there should be a good number of posts coming up soon.
Right now imagine I just broke an expensive bottle of champagne on my monitor as a christening.
Ok, so I have been MIA for quite awhile. You happy now? I am back.
It’s funny, I was constantly thinking of things to blog about while I was on my hiatus, but I just couldn’t bring myself to actually post anything. I don’t know what it was… I just didn’t feel like it. Let’s figure out what is was:
- Did visiting Maryland suck the life out of me?
- Did the infected IHOP eggs that nearly did aquakitty in impair my ability to formulate words?
- When my harddrive died and I lost 170 gigs of data did I go into a catatonic state?
- Did drinking with Stewie, FreakMagnet, Renaldo, Aric Blue, AceRimRat, meatyhook and several others put me at that much of a loss for words?
- Maybe I was just too busy listening to Ron & Fez, who finally found a new home on XM radio.
- Did helping Skat fix her blog just turn me off blogs for that long?
Maybe it was all those things and then some, maybe it was none of those things. I need to write more so I guess I am back. I need to try to keep this thing fairly updated.
Happy now, bitches?
Man, I slept a lot today. Sundays are good for that, even though they usually fuck you up for work the next day. Thankfully I am off this week and don’t really have to worry about it.
I went to sleep some point Saturday night for an unknown amount of time. I was watching TV and the next thing I know I wake up and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me was just starting. Of course I had to stay up and watch it. Goddamn I love that movie… and not just because you get to see Moira Kelly‘s titties in it, though it is a plus. I will go out on a limb and say that it is, IMO, the best Lynch movie. There is just something about this movie (and the show too) that I love so much. I love being in that world and following the characters around.
Anyway, so finally around 6:30am or so I crawl into bed and pass out. Wake up around noon and crash again at 3:00 to finally get up around 5:30 or 6:00.
It felt great, but now I am getting kind of bored and no one is around or awake. Guess I will have to throw in a movie from my too watch pile(s) or maybe finally get around to finishing Millenium Season One. Hopefully by 4 or so I will be tired enough to get a few hours in, but it’s not looking that way right now.
